CLOUT EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH KENNY SANCHEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's a quick interview with none other than Kenny Sanchez.  I could write a long, witty write-up but I'll let the conversation and the photos speak for themselves.  Enjoy...

Philthy Rich: It seems like you've taken photos of every hot girl in the U.S. Is there any girls out there you haven't photographed?

Sanchez: oh yeah...there are always new interesting people to snap pics of.

PR: Do you ever take pictures of ugly girls?

S: I've taken pics of all sorts of people....men, women (young & old)....I'm even taking shots of kids in a few weeks......these won't be the Olan Mills style portraits if you know what I mean.

PR: How do you usually decide who you are going to photograph?

S: If someone seems interesting to me, I wanna photograph them. The main thing though is there willingness to be open to new ideas and trust in me to produce an interesting image of them.

PR: Who is your favorite person you've worked with?

S: they're all great for the most part. But if I had to choose just one....it would have to be my grandpa (photo above).

PR: Do you travel a lot of are you mostly staying in San Diego?

S: I mainly stay local but I have done shoots in the LA, Orange County and the Bay Area.

PR: Have you done any commercial work or are all your photos just for your website?

S: I've done some work a few magazines (mainly local),Pony Shoes & Dj's/Musicians/Bands.

PR: What motivates you as far as photography goes?

S: It's very motivating when others appreciate, like your art & actually get it.

PR: Who do you look up to or who inspires you in the art world? Outside of the art world?

S: Hype Williams & Jason Sinatra were huge inspirations early. The movie "Belly" introduced me to Hype who sparked my interest in making music videos & films which is what I studied & focused on much in & just after college. His use of camera angles, wide lenses, vivid colors & transitions are so eye catching & different. One day I hope to get back into it. Jason's my best friend who's an amazing an creative artist. Throw him an empty cigarette box and he'll shape the foil lining into a creature jumping out....just for shit's and giggles. ....Nowadays I see inspirations everywhere, internet, music, people, television....etc.

PR: I saw you used a building with a bunch of graffiti for a setting for a photo, what's your take on graffiti and the whole graffiti culture?

S: ah yes...quite possibly one of the coolest places I've seen. Graffiti is rad and I have much respect for the artist who can do it, It's an amazing talent.

PR: If someone wanted to hire you to take photos for them is that something someone can do?

S: of course, contact me through my website. Just don't ask me to change my style. I can't tell you how many times people have said they love my work, & that it's so different....then turn around & ask me to shoot them at sunset on the beach or take B&W photos of their pet....it's really quite hilarious.

PR: You seem to have a lot of girls with tattoos. Is that something you seek out?

S: I love the art of tattooing and think they look amazing in photos. The wilder the better. I don't necessarily seek them out, maybe I'm just drawn to it visually.

PR: Where do you want to take things in the future?

S: I'd like to one day consistently produce images the way I see them done in my head.....and be able to quit my day job so I can focus & really start creating some good shit.
